She has become the top model for internationally prestigious high-fashion magazines, such as "Mode" and "Italian Elle, which often focus on plus size women. She is also now considered to be in the same ranks as those beautiful faces in the plus size modeling world such as Pamela Anderson, Emme, Anne and many others.

In a transcript of one of her interviews, Carre Otis intimates that the turning point in her life happened during her travel to Kathmandu where she personally saw utter hunger. The sight opened her eyes and gave her a fresh, more positive perception of life and also boosted her positive self-image. Since that time, she gave her body the attention it needed and she grew from a skinny size-4 to a healthy size-12. She says that the average American is not thin and that a plus size woman is not big -- she's curvy. She is also quoted as having said, "It's much more about character and personality with beauty...and having a bad attitude is not very pretty."

She was the first supermodel of Guess for their plus size collection, soon joined in that category by Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Eva Herzigova. Then Calvin Klein had her model their jeans focusing on her derriere in that famous biker-babe pose. Revlon focused on her classic facial features with their cosmetics and she was branded as having "the most unforgettable face." She also models the famous Marina Rinaldi label. Although waif-thin models still proliferate in the fashion world, large women like plus size Carre Otis has shown that biggish ladies can have not only star appeal, but attractive fashion sense as well.

As she moves around in her chosen career of modeling, she continues to lecture a lot; urging the plus size women to have a positive self-image. Plans to put up and open a boutique offering plus size women's apparel is one of her projects in the works. This and other factors reinforce the perception that the body-beautiful plus size Carre Otis is an all-natural woman, one who deserves to be admired and respected.
